GOD'S RAINBOW CONNECTION

The recurring violence in America and Europe conjures darkness and shades of an approaching apocalypse, or last days.  Revelation of Armageddon?  For the Christian’s faith, the Bible reveals the truth and the way (John 14:6).  Christians have the gift of faith from God.  Faith is part of the armor of God; the shield for protection from the “flaming arrows of the evil one” (Ephesians 6:16).  The word of God beckons us to “become as little children” (Matthew 18:3).  A child’s faith?  Not exactly.  A child lacks worldly knowledge of ambition, pride, and arrogance.  A child’s lowered stature is humble and teachable.  Despite what CNN may flash across screens at home and on mobile devices, there’s no fear in the redeemed, those covered through the blood shed at the cross.  The battle has already been won.

To find communion with God, and the peace of salvation, yield with a child’s heart.  Be intentional with love for God and others.  This fragile, ephemeral earth-suit experience is but a vapor or grain of sand on a sun drenched beach, seeking eternal connection for fulfillment.  While the flesh complicates it, the truth is that this God given gift of life journeys to arrive at a destination of truth:  "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind; and, love your neighbor as yourself” (Luke 10:27).

While the world views life in tangible terms, we actually live in a spiritual realm; a battle of light and competing dark forces.  We are spiritual life forces living a human experience, with choices to shape outcomes on Earth and Heaven.   “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms” (Ephesians 6:12).

There’s no question that a child invokes pure love.  Imagine the love God has for all of us?  Lyrics in the “The Rainbow Connection”, written by Paul Williams and Lenny Ascher, reflect a spiritual path, an examination of the meaning of life.  In a mystical way, the song captures the search in life to have significance, purpose, and connection to the purity of a new born baby.  May we all find that eternal connection with the Father of Lights in Heaven, and Rainbows on Earth.  Is God’s voice calling you for a rainbow connection?
